The Shelby

The Shelby is a loft-style apartment community at 917 Locust Street in Downtown St. Louis. It offers twenty floor plans, from studios to three bedrooms.

Apartments mix original brick walls and oversized windows with modern finishes, and ceilings run 9 to 12 feet. Kitchens come with stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator, plus tiled backsplashes. Apartments include an in-unit washer and dryer, air conditioning and walk-in closets, and furnished apartments are available.

Shared spaces include a clubroom with a billiards table and co-working tables, a media lounge, an entertaining kitchen with a coffee bar, a business center and a 24-hour fitness center with free weights and cardio equipment. The building has controlled access, package receiving, complimentary WiFi and on-site management and maintenance. Enclosed garage parking is across the street.

The Danforth campus is about a 14 to 18 minute drive, so plan on a car.

Cats and dogs are welcome, up to two pets per apartment, with breed limits and pets over 50 pounds considered case by case. Fees include a $50 application fee, a $150 admin fee, a $500 security deposit and a one-time utility fee of $20 to $40 depending on the layout. Leases run from 2 to 14 months at the same monthly rent, with a $250 one-time premium for short-term leases.
