The Koken on Ohio

The Koken on Ohio is a renovated historic building in Fox Park that once housed an art and entertainment venue and now holds one- and two-bedroom apartments. Original exposed brick and ceiling beams sit alongside custom cabinetry and matte black fixtures.

Apartments have tall ceilings, luxury plank flooring, a kitchen island with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances with a built-in microwave and soft-close cabinets. Each has a full-size washer and dryer, a tiled shower and tub, dual-pane windows with solar window coverings and smart thermostats. Most have oversized walk-in closets.

The building has a fitness center, a clubroom with workspaces, a community courtyard, a mailroom with package concierge, a pet spa, bike storage, an elevator and trash rooms on every floor. Entry is controlled with a keyless system, and on-site management and maintenance are in the building. Fiber internet and EV charging are available. Private workspaces, storage units and gated parking are offered for an additional fee.

The Danforth campus is about a 19 to 20 minute drive, so plan on having a car. The medical campus is a long walk away, so a car helps there too.

Cats and dogs are welcome. This fall, visitors who tour and apply within 48 hours for a lease of 13 months or longer can draw a move-in special from the building's Fall Savings Jar. Leases run 6 to 18 months at the same monthly rent, with a one-time $250 premium for leases under 12 months. The Fall Savings Jar special needs a lease of 13 months or longer. The application fee is $55 and the admin fee is $200. Security deposits are $500 or $750 depending on layout. Parking is $75 a month, pet rent is $25 a month with a $250 one-time pet fee, and there's a one-time utilities charge of $90 or $112.
